My first job in the USA was in Direct Sales sector at Best Buy Inc, Dallas, Texas. I have started my career as “Sales Associate” in Computer & Accessories Sales Depeetment. At first my job responsibility was to sale Computar, (Both brand & generic), accessories & “Extended Warrenty Service”, which was like buy insurance for the product. I have to approch every customer entered in our store as provided in training. My first job was to listen customer's problem, his requirement, or solution he has made allready, if customer was not sure about what he or she needs to buy, After carefully observing his activies i had to help her or to offer her depending on my analysis about that customer. I have showed them different varients of same thing, explain its usefullness, quality. I had to highlight what benifits he/she will going to have if he buy this. I also create a felling of “Ownership” in the customer by let him explore the item in his own way. Most of the time these carefully chosen strategies has worked.
After confarmation of Main item sales, i used to offer them different types of accessories. Those are like a box of blank DVD, Pen drive, Printer, Extra inks, a leather bag with laptop, items those have high profit margin for company.
Completing these part successfully then i have to deal with most challenging part, which is to sell “Extended Warrenty Service”, It was like an insurance of the product he bought. It created most of the profit margin for the company, sales associate also got commission if they can sale it.
I have fillup the target for six months continuously. After that i was promoted as “Sales Supervisor” where i have to take care of 12 Sales Associates in the floor. I had to guide them how to do things properly, Also had to help them when they need me to close any potential sales deal with Customer.
After 18 months of continious service, i was promoted as shift in-charge/ Manager. At that time i had to mantain a keen observation to whole depertment. Solve any problem arised at any time, had to make work schedule of sales asssociate, Train sales asociates on Sales Skill & Customer Relationship Management skill every week. Also had to do some administrative work.
