Position Summary
Supply Chain Manager (Import/Export) will lead international logistics, negotiating directly with foreign suppliers and buyers while managing end-to-end documentation, compliance, and transportation to optimize efficiency. The role requires a dynamic professional with a strong academic background, exceptional negotiation skills, and a willingness to travel extensively for in-person vendor relationship management.
Job Responsibilities
- International Logistics & Compliance: Oversee complete import/export processes, ensuring adherence to customs regulations, tariffs, and international trade laws. Should have clear idea on landing cost.
- Negotiation & Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts, prices, and shipping terms with foreign suppliers, agents, and freight forwarders to optimize costs.
- Global Sourcing & Procurement: Identify new international sources for materials and negotiate terms to support production requirements.
- Documentation & Compliance: Manage necessary documentation (bill of lading, certificates of origin, commercial invoices) for efficient customs clearance.
- International Travel: Travel to foreign locations to audit vendors, negotiate agreements, and manage business relationships firsthand.
- Operational Optimization: Analyze transportation data to improve shipping efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
Required Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor of Honors (4 Years) in Computer Science & Engineering
Additional Qualifications
- Age 34 to 45 years

- Experience: Proven 10+ years of experience in both import and export, with a demonstrated ability to negotiate with international stakeholders.
- Negotiation Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills for high-level vendor management.
- Agility & Travel: A "young," energetic professional willing to travel frequently for business.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to manage forecasting, inventory levels, and logistics costs.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of ERP systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office/data analysis tools, understanding of Incoterms, HS code classification, and L/C management.
- Communication Skills: Fluency in English.
Education
- Bachelor/Honors
- A strong academic background with minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and International Business.
- Certification: CPIM, CSCP or CLTD certifications are preferred.
