Position Summary

AFSCM is a renowned educational institution dedicated to providing quality education following the English Version National curriculum. We are committed to nurturing students into well-rounded individuals prepared for the global stage. We are currently seeking experienced “Section Head” for our institution.
Job Responsibilities
ACADEMIC OPERATIONS Lead and manage the day-to-day academic operations of an assigned section (Primary or Secondary), ensuring smooth and organized functioning at all times. Oversee lesson plan submission, syllabus coverage tracking, and timely completion of the academic calendar. Monitor classroom delivery quality through regular observation visits and provide constructive feedback to teachers. Coordinate with subject teachers to align teaching approaches with institutional goals and national curriculum standards. STAFF LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT Conduct regular one-on-one and group meetings with teachers to address academic concerns and share best practices. Organize and facilitate in-house professional development workshops, peer learning sessions, and training programs for teaching staff. Support the onboarding of new teachers, ensuring they understand the institution's academic standards and code of conduct. Evaluate teacher performance periodically and submit structured appraisal reports to the Principal. STUDENT & PARENT ENGAGEMENT Serve as the primary point of contact for parents of the assigned section regarding academic progress, behavioral matters, and institutional updates. Organize parent-teacher meetings, progress review sessions, and academic counseling for students requiring additional support. Monitor student attendance, discipline, academic performance trends, and intervene proactively where necessary. EVENTS & INSTITUTIONAL CONTRIBUTION Actively participate in and coordinate school-wide events including annual days, sports days, science fairs, and competitions. Contribute to curriculum review committees, examination boards, and institutional planning meetings as required. Represent the section in leadership team meetings and communicate section-level updates to the Principal and academic leadership
Required Educational Qualifications
- Graduation Equivalent in Any discipline
Additional Qualifications
EDUCATION: Preferred fields: Education, English, Management, Science, or any discipline directly relevant to the school section being led. Additional certifications in Educational Leadership, Curriculum Design, or TESOL/TEFL will be treated as a strong advantage. Candidates with training from recognized teacher education institutions (e.g. BRAC IED, NCTB-affiliated bodies) are encouraged to apply. EXPERIENCE: Experience in English Medium or English Version schools will be given preference. Prior experience managing a team of 5 or more teachers is highly desirable. Candidates who have successfully led academic programs, parent engagement initiatives, or school improvement projects are especially encouraged to apply. Experience in conducting teacher observation, feedback sessions, and performance appraisals is an added advantage. LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATION: Exceptional fluency in spoken and written English — must be capable of conducting all academic communication, meetings, and reporting in English. Strong command over formal report writing, academic correspondence, and parent-facing communication. Proficiency in creating and delivering professional presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint (PPT expertise is mandatory). LEADERSHIP & PEDAGOGY: Deep expertise in classroom management strategies and evidence-based teaching methodologies. Ability to mentor, coach, and professionally develop teaching staff through observation and structured feedback. Strong understanding of child psychology, differentiated instruction, and inclusive education principles. Demonstrated ability to resolve student behavioral, academic, or interpersonal challenges with a calm, structured approach. TECHNOLOGY & ADMINISTRATION: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools. Comfortable with student management systems, attendance platforms, and result processing tools.
