Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced professional for the position of Manager – Product Development for our Habiganj Factory. The incumbent will be responsible for leading product development initiatives for Cosmetics, Personal Care, Toiletries, Household, and Hygiene products, ensuring successful formulation, commercialization, and continuous product improvement.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept to commercial launch of Cosmetics, Personal Care, Toiletries, Household and Hygiene products.
- Develop and optimize formulations through laboratory trials, pilot batches, validation, stability studies, and production scale-up activities.
- Conduct prototype preparation, product evaluation, benchmarking, compatibility studies, and performance assessments.
- Ensure timely execution of development projects in alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
- Coordinate existing product optimization initiatives, including formulation improvement, performance enhancement, cost optimization, margin (GP%) improvement, and innovation deployment.
- Research new technologies, innovative ingredients, market trends, and emerging formulation concepts relevant to assigned product categories.
- Establish product specifications and test procedures as required for R&D projects.
- Coordinate pilot trials, process validation, and manufacturing scale-up activities to ensure smooth commercial production.
- Support troubleshooting and technical problem-solving related to formulation, processing, and product performance.
- Collaborate with suppliers, technical consultants, and external experts to introduce innovative technologies and materials into the product pipeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including Brand & Marketing, Sales, Production, and Supply Chain teams regarding product development related activities.
- Investigate product quality and consumer complaints related to product performance and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support root cause analysis and implementation of technical improvements where necessary.
- Prepare and review product specifications, formulation documents, batch manufacturing procedures, test methods, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable domestic and international regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company quality policies.
- Support product claims substantiation, stability programs, and product safety evaluations.
- Assist in product development planning, project prioritization, resource allocation, and budget preparation.
Additional Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of experience in Research & Product Development within Cosmetics, Personal Care, Toiletries, Household, Hygiene, or related FMCG industries.
- Hands-on experience in formulation development, scale-up, and commercialization of consumer products.
- Experience in handling multiple development projects simultaneously.
Education
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science, or related discipline from a reputed institution.
Experience
- At least 8 years
