Job Responsibilities

• Operate CNC roll notching machines/ CNC roll turning lathe machines by selecting or inputting machining programs and adjusting parameters to precisely finish steel rolls for rebar rolling mills, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, profiles, and surface finish.
• Assist in setting up and preparing machining operations by securely loading steel rolls onto the machine bed, installing appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures, and verifying machine alignment to ensure a safe and efficient machining process.
• Execute machining tasks including roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing passes based on roll specifications and tolerances, ensuring the final product meets engineering and production requirements.
• Inspect machined rolls using calipers, micrometers, and surface finish gauges to verify geometry and surface quality, and document results to maintain product traceability and quality compliance.
• Check tool condition and machine performance by identifying wear, performing timely tool changes, and reporting mechanical issues to support uninterrupted operations and minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, and alignment checks to maintain machine efficiency, reduce breakdowns, and ensure long-term equipment reliability.
• Interpret technical drawings and machining specifications using AutoCAD and other engineering tools to ensure accurate translation of roll designs into finished components.
• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve design complexities and ensure roll availability aligns with production schedules, contributing to seamless mill operations.
• Maintain machining records and documentation, including roll serial numbers, machining parameters, and inspection logs to ensure traceability and production accountability.
• Follow all safety and operational procedures rigorously to maintain a clean, hazard-free, and compliant working environment in accordance with company and legal standards.

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

• At least 3 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):

 Steel

• Strong hands-on experience in operating and programming CNC roll notching or turning machines, particularly for steel roll applications in rolling mills.
• Skilled in setting up machines, selecting appropriate cutting tools and inserts, and aligning fixtures for precision machining.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining specifications, including familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Understanding of roll production, machining schedules, and coordination with rolling mill operations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting defects, coordinating tasks, and documenting work.
