Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing vegetable farm operations, ensuring efficient crop production, and maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare an annual plan and implement activities accordingly
  • Supervise 105–135 acres of land per year
  • Prepare and review the yearly budget according to the activity plan
  • Keep all expenses within the approved budget limit
  • Assist Technical Assistants (Production) in target-wise land and farmer selection
  • Provide final approval and supply quality inputs
  • Conduct farmer training sessions and randomly check at least 10% of plots/farmers visited by TA
  • Provide technical support for seed crop management and verify technical registers
  • Ensure roughing and seed quality standards (moisture content, germination, appearance, etc.) prior to procurement
  • Manage labour and resolve local operational issues promptly
  • Develop staff through counselling, meetings, training, and coaching; conduct yearly performance assessments
  • Share field information with supervisors and communicate with local stakeholders (local leaders, GOs, and NGOs)
  • Analyse profit/loss, maintain all official documents, prepare and submit reports and ensure security of all BRAC assets
  • Review bills, vouchers, and financial activity reports for production activities and recommend for management approval
  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
  • Perform any other jobs as assigned by the management



Required Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture (BSA)
Additional Qualifications

  • Age, education, and experience criteria may be relaxed for highly potential candidates
  • Prior experience in a similar field will be given preference
  • Strong knowledge of disease diagnosis and production planning is essential
  • Must have knowledge in crop physiology of horticultural crop and management of horticultural crop
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively and manage diverse responsibilities
  • Proficiency in report writing, budgeting, work prioritization, and time management
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adapt to challenging environments


Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture
  • The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Agriculture/ Agronomy/ Soil Science/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Agricultural Extension/ Entomology/ Plant Pathology/ Seed Technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or a Second Class/Division (or equivalent) in all academic examinations from any reputed university

Experience

  • At least 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)
