Position Summary
Responsible for creating innovative silk product designs, developing collections, and ensuring design excellence while maintaining brand aesthetics and market trends.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducting research on current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market demand
- To improve themes, moods according to the silk yarn nature and available facilities have to work with silk weaving centers
- Sketching designs, creating mood boards, and selecting fabrics, patterns, and colors to be used in production
- Ensure the design of Silk saree, dupatta, scarf and fabrics based on nature and characteristics of different types of silk yarn
- To visit others silk production centers for idea generating
- Make proper sample based on brands perception, costing guidelines and ensure delivery of the samples maintaining the standard procedure
- Overseeing the production process, ensuring that designs are produced on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Monitor sales status to ensure future needs and demands of the customers
- Contribute to yearly design planning by making relevant themes, mood boards, storyboards, color charts and presentations
- Networking with Aarong Design Dept, BRAC Silk production centers, other silk producers and silk entrepreneurs
- Prepare different report and presentation as per management requirement
- Maintain the liaison and communication with BDP office and Sericulture Enterprise management
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
- Perform any other jobs as assigned by the management
Required Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Textile Design
Additional Qualifications
- Education and Experience will be relaxed for the potential Candidates
- Knowledge on different types silk yarn like silk and it’s degumming and dyeing process
- Knowledge of fabric, patterns, embroideries, dye, prints, different types of raw materials and weaving process
- Excellent in creativity and imagination, with the ability to think outside the box
- Strong technical skills, including the ability to create sketches and use design software
- Required skills: Ability to anticipate change in fashion trends for fashion forecasting, understanding of different fabrics and clothes making, Flexibility to adapt designs to suit clients` needs
- Excellent in report writing, presentation prepare, people management, work prioritization, time management as well as the ability to adapt to work under pressure and challenging environment
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc)
- The candidate must have B.S.C in Fashion design/ Textile design with minimum CGPA 2.50 or 2nd class/ division or equivalent result in all academic examinations
Experience
- At least 2 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Healthcare/Lifestyle product, Boutique/ Fashion
