Position Summary
We are looking for a Child Psychologist
Job Responsibilities
While we do not expect 24-hour on-call availability, the psychologist should maintain a regular full-time presence on campus, ideally during standard working hours, with flexibility for occasional urgent situations. This continuous presence will enable:
- Individual and group counseling sessions
- Crisis intervention for high-risk behaviors (aggression, theft, runaway incidents)
- Structured behavioral and emotional development programs
- Regular training and capacity building for staff on trauma-informed care, early detection of distress, and behavior management
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of prior experience in the field of children's and adolescents' mental health.
Required Educational Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Educational Psychology/Counselling Psychology/School Psychology/Clinical Psychology
Additional Qualifications
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience with a diverse range of therapeutic modalities and interventions suitable for children and adolescents.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of child development, including the ability to apply this knowledge in play-based therapy and behavioral therapy interventions.
- Proficiency in conducting play-based therapy, behavioral and cognitive therapy techniques to address emotional and behavioral issues effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualized and effective treatment plans for children and adolescents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Displaying compassion, empathy, and patience while working with children and adolescents, fostering a safe and trusting therapeutic environment.
- Strong organizational skills, efficiently handling caseloads and appointments, and maintaining precise and confidential assessments and counseling sessions records.
- Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in all interactions, ensuring students' and their families' well-being and privacy.
