Position Summary

BRAC Education Programme (BEP) is working to enhance quality and access to education at all levels and advocate for quality education nationally. BEP has over 30 years of experience in working with the government and operating schools in conflict-prone and post-disaster settings across 5 countries in Asia and Africa. BEP’s low-cost, quality scalable schooling model has made BRAC the world’s largest provider of private secular education. BRAC schools have allowed almost 14 million children from economically disadvantaged households to grow up with learning opportunities in Bangladesh. BEP prepares children and young people for fulfilling futures through early childhood development, primary and secondary schools, adolescent programmes and support at the tertiary level. BRAC’s education team adapts curricula and learning methods to ensure that education is accessible for all children, especially those with disabilities, including mother tongue-based curricula for children from ethnic communities

Job Responsibilities

Core duties of the intern will include but shall not be limited to: 

-Development lesson plans for accelerated model schools 

-Design worksheets, assignments, learning materials based on NCTB textbooks 

-Assist in developing operation guideline for accelerated model schools 

-Field visit to accelerated model schools in the urban and rural areas across Bangladesh 

-Assist in developing student assessment for the accelerated learning model 

-Assist in designing teacher and staff training for the accelerated learning model 

-Attend different forums/ meetings and record meeting minutes 

-Maintain smooth, friendly and effective liaison with other BEP curriculum experts and associates 

-Support the team to plan, arrange and coordinate training sessions.

Qualification

Educational Background: Bachelors’ Degree in Education, Bangla or English Literature, Math or relevant discipline from any recognised university/ institution (candidates from IER background is preferred).

Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken and writing for both Bangla and English Language .

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies: 

-Excellent communication skills 

-In depth knowledge and understanding of Primary Education in Bangladesh 

-Sound knowledge of global practices regarding pre-primary, primary education 

-Skills on pedagogy techniques i.e. play based, peer learning, group learning, project based learning 

-The keen mindset to learn and grow, open to innovation and creativity .

Required Educational Qualifications
