Position Summary
The Assistant Engineer - Civil (Internal Audit) inspects and evaluates construction projects and existing infrastructure to ensure structural integrity and compliance with engineering specifications. This role focuses on verifying building materials, reviewing technical designs, and identifying deviations from safety regulations, quality standards, and budget allocations to mitigate operational and financial risks.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of civil works, structural elements and infrastructure across TBG’s different business units, sites and projects.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings, BOQs, construction standards, building codes and safety regulations.
- Assist in developing audit plans and technical checklists for civil engineering-focused audits.
- Review construction quality, material usage, workmanship and structural integrity.
- Analyse engineering drawings, project plans, work schedules, bills and site records for accuracy and completeness.
- Evaluate contractors’ performance and quality of civil works as per technical specifications and contractual requirements.
- Identify weaknesses in internal control, construction defects, safety hazards or operational risks; and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare technical reports and support the development of audit findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance and compliance teams to support corrective actions.
Required Educational Qualifications
- Graduation Equivalent in Any discipline
Additional Qualifications
- Age 25 to 32 years
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices and building codes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications and technical documents
- Understanding of construction quality control, site supervision and material testing
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication and report-writing skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with technical teams.
Education
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering
- Khulna University of Engineering and Technology,Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology,Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology,Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology,Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) students will get preference
Experience
- At most 2 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Amusement Park, Group of Companies, Manufacturing (FMCG), Sports Complex
