Position Summary

Anandalok Trust for Education and Development, a charitable and non-profit organization registered in 2017, aims to develop enlightened, critically aware and skilled human resources for a more humane, equitable and just society in Bangladesh. Anandalok Trust is going to implement a project titled "Empowering young and adult multipliers for advancing human rights, gender equality and social inclusion in Bangladesh" (short: AHIMSA) supported by Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and NETZ Partnership for Development and Justice. The project will be implemented in Jhenaidah and Kushtia districts. Anandalok Trust is looking for a highly transparent, meticulous, and professional individual for the following position:

Job Nature: Full-time (Contractual); Reportable to Project Manager.

Job Location: Kushtia / Jhenaidah (with extensive and everyday travel to sub-districts and grassroots field sites)

Job Responsibilities

  • The Area Coordinator will be responsible for the overall operational management, field-level execution, and grassroots monitoring of the AHIMSA project within assigned sub-districts. He/She will manage and guide the Field Facilitators, ensure the smooth functioning of Student Forums and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), coordinate and deliver local level awareness orientations, check financial transactions at the field level, maintain close linkage with local administration, and report field achievements directly to the Project Manager.

Specific Responsibilities (Core Duties & Field Implementation):

  • Support the Project Manager in preparing reports, implementation action plans, and monthly/annual work plans based on the project framework.
  • Supervise, track, and monitor the daily field performance of Field Facilitators, providing strong leadership, capacity building, and on-job coaching.
  • Ensure proper formation, structural development, and capacity building of Student Forums, Theatre Forums, self-defense groups, and local CSOs at Union, Upazila, and District levels.
  • Organize, manage, and facilitate field-level trainings and orientation sessions on human rights, gender equality, non-violence, and women and girls' rights.
  • Maintain formal and informal linkages with local government authorities, School Management Committees (SMCs), teachers, and community leaders to ensure a gender-friendly environment.
  • Organize and facilitate local and regional meetings, workshops, seminars, stakeholder dialogues, and all other public events.
  • Consolidate qualitative and quantitative field data, case studies, and field tracking documentation to prepare progress reports for the Project Manager.
  • Provide field-level support to conduct different research, surveys, and studies under the project area.
  • Oversee field activity expenses to ensure optimum use of project resources and check accounts before submission to the Project Accountant.
  • Enforce and practice institutional safeguarding policies (Child Protection, Gender, and PSH) across all field interactions and community networks.
  • Establish and continue formal and informal linkage/network with community, local authorities, government officials, local leaders and other organizations.

Required Educational Qualifications
  • Master of Arts (MA) in Social Science
Additional Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Public Administration, or any relevant discipline from a university.

Experience

  • 4 to 5 years
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): NGO

Additional Requirements

  • Age At most 45 years
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of working experience in the NGO sector, with at least 2 years of direct experience as an Area/Field Coordinator or Supervisor in rights-based, youth empowerment, or social inclusion projects.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing field teams and coordinating community-level advocacy structures.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and team facilitation skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Must possess a valid motorcycle driving license and travel extensively to remote field sites daily.
  • Sound documentation skills and basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Email).
  • Age Limit: Maximum 45 years. However, age and educational qualifications may be relaxed for highly experienced candidates.
